'MY A-Z OF ANIMALS', BY BRIDGET CLARKE
'It is a whimsical introduction to the animal kingdom with a sprinkle of magic dust added.'- Amanda Coen - Parade Handmade
MY A-Z OF ANIMALS by Bridget Clarke, is the kind of book I loved as a child. It is a whimsical, soft back book. It is an introduction to the animal kingdom with a sprinkle of magic dust added. Every animal has a different story or poem. The kind of book a child will go back to again and again. I love that not only is Bridget a children's story writer but a children's story book illustrator also. Often the ability to create is something not restricted to one discipline or other.
You can dive into the middle or start from the back and it works. Great for bed time reading with long and shorter parts to choose from. This is a wonderfully colourful and exciting book for children of individual stories and poems by Bridget Clarke, a children's story book writer and artist and marketing professional, from Westport Co. Mayo.
The book tells imaginative and fun tales in the lives of 26 different wild and domesticated animals of the world. There's even mention of a unicorn called Uri. There's 'Yonnie The Yak' and 'Fergus The Frog' too and many more.

'Colour And Stories Are A Great Combo'
Bridget loves expressing herself with a combination of colour and story telling by creating books with illustrations like this one which is neat enough to be carried around in a handbag to be produced when the moment calls for a little occupation...
Bridget's love of animals, colour and story telling shows in her book 'My A-Z Of Animals'. Even adults will find this book stimulating. Bridget has a pet cockatiel and Lough Key Forest Park holds a special place in her heart and influences her work.

I work when the opportunity arises and not at set times. If for some reason I couldn't continue with my books and art I would read all the time. One highlight was when I launched my book at the Westport Arts Festival. It was very exciting and a great opportunity to promote my work in a cultural setting.

What Inspires Your Creative Work
As a child I wanted to be and artist and what draws me to pursue creativity is expression and surprise. I am inspired by scenery and stories.
My ideal place for a picnic is the top of Croagh Patrick and that is where I would bring visitors to show off the beauty of Ireland. There and Down Patrick Head.
